Program Details 

Status – Part-time, 10-15 hours/week

Compensation – $22/hour

Location – Remote (EST work hours) 

Duration  –  12 month Fellowship (with possibility for an extension)

We see our fellowship program as a pathway for skilled emerging leaders to gain exposure and experience in the philanthropic field, with a priority for supporting people from historically marginalized communities. The ideal candidate will bring existing communications or related skills and experience and either experience or clear interest in learning about and engaging in philanthropy and social change. They will play a crucial role in advancing Ktisis’ communications and outreach including managing and creating content for our blog, newsletter, and thought leadership pieces, while also contributing to our short- and long-term communications strategy.

Responsibilities

Content Management and Creation

  • Develop and create engaging content for the firm's website, social media platforms, blog, newsletter, reports, and other communications channels

  • Support senior members of the Ktisis team in refining and completing content creation

  • Manage and maintain a content pipeline and editorial calendar

  • Research and analyze industry trends and news to identify opportunities for content creation and engagement

Strategic Communications

  • Provide input into short- and long-term communications strategies for the firm

  • Collaborate with staff to develop and execute communication strategies that align with Ktisis Capital's business objectives

  • Participate in team meetings and brainstorming sessions to contribute to the development of marketing and communications strategies

Project Management

  • Oversee and coordinate various communications projects from inception to completion

  • Ensure timely delivery of deliverables and maintain high-quality standards

Research and Analysis

  • Conduct research on industry trends, best practices, and competitor activities

  • Analyze data and metrics to inform communications strategies and improve content performance

Professional Development & Learning

  • Pursue continuing education opportunities to stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in communications and marketing as well as learning about the field of philanthropy and social change (and the work that happens at the intersection of these two fields)

Other Duties

  • Provide general administrative and communications support as assigned

  • Potential for client-facing project support as needed

Qualifications & Competencies

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field, or comparable work experience

  • Familiarity with philanthropy and social change, or demonstrated interest in progressive social impact

Communication Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities

  • Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to adapt tone and style for different audiences and platforms

  • Ability to create high-quality, compelling content for various digital platforms

Strategic Thinking and Creativity

  • Capacity to develop and implement communications strategies aligned with organizational objectives

  • Ability to generate innovative content ideas that differentiate the firm and establish thought leadership

  • Adaptability to stay current with new trends and technologies in the field

Project Management and Organization

  • Excellent organizational and project management skills

  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines

  • Capacity to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

Digital Marketing and Analytics

  • Proficiency in digital marketing tools and social media platforms

  • Knowledge of email marketing, social media strategies, and content optimization for search engines

  • Ability to analyze data and metrics to measure communication effectiveness and make data-driven suggestions

Collaboration and Adaptability

  • Strong teamwork skills to collaborate with staff and other fellows

  • Flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances and continually improve strategies

Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills

  • Strong analytical abilities to assess complex situations and develop solutions

  • Capacity to apply critical thinking to communications challenges

Industry Knowledge

  • Understanding of current trends and issues in philanthropy and social impact

  • Demonstrated passion for advancing society toward justice
