Social Justice Donor Survey
The Ktisis Capital social justice donor survey represents a groundbreaking comparative analysis of philanthropic activities between social justice donors and mainstream wealthy donors.
Conducted in 2023, this first-ever annual study examined 68 qualified high-net-worth individuals who met the eligibility criteria of having either $1+ million in assets or annual income over $200,000. The survey collected detailed information about giving patterns, motivations, causes supported, giving strategies, and impact evaluation methods through both quantitative and qualitative questions.
The respondents collectively represented over $1.7 billion in assets and demonstrated some distinct patterns in their giving approach, particularly around strategic planning, impact measurement, and use of giving vehicles like donor-advised funds. This initial survey sets an important baseline for understanding progressive philanthropy while acknowledging the need for larger and more diverse samples in future research.
